Apple today announced a record number of sales for its new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus on the opening weekend. It sold over 13 million smartphones in three days, which breaks last year’s record of 10 million handset sales. More importantly though, Apple has announced that the new iPhones will be available in India from October 16 onward.
After the new iPhones went on sale in 12 countries on Friday, they will now be rolled out to another 40 countries starting from October 9. India, as mentioned above, will get the new iPhones on October 16.
Besides India, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will go on sale in Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Maldives, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan. Other countries include Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia and Turkey.
Apple says that it plans on selling the new iPhones in over 130 countries before the end of this year.
