When Google launched the Nexus 5 running on Android 4.4 KitKat, it came with the Google’s Experience Launcher. Google Experience Launcher was exclusive to the Nexus 5 and had Google Now as the hub on the homescreen with all information laid out in a card format. Now it seems Google is easing the exclusivity and other Android smartphone users could soon install this launcher on their devices.
When they updated the Google Search app, the folks at Droid-Life noticed that the Google Experience Launcher had been renamed to Google Now Launcher. More than just being a change in name, what this indicates it that Google is likely to soon introduce this launcher on other devices. The name Google Now Launcher is more apt considering Google Now is at the center of everything.
