Xiaomi has launched a new 4K TV – Xiaomi Mi TV 3 – in China. Like the predecessor Mi TV 2, the new Xiaomi TV is ultra slim – 11.6 mm at its thinnest and 36.7 mm at its thickest. The Mi Tv 3 has a large 60-inch display along with full aluminum frame and metal backplate. The TV is priced at RMB 4999 (approximately $786 and Rs. 50,957).
Xiaomi also launched a MiTV main board, which is priced at RMB 999 (Rs. 10,185.16). The main highlight of the device is that its main board transforms any TV & projector into a smart TV. The board comes with built-in speakers. The company also launched two other accessories Mi Subwoofer and Bluetooth voice control remote for RMB 599 (Rs. 6,108 approx.) and RMB 99 (Rs. 1009 approx.) respectively.
Xiaomi’s new TV has LG’s true 5K display, which features color gamut >NTSC 85% and MEMC motion compression for better motion images. Connectivity options include HDMI (x3), USB (x2), VGA, Ethernet, AV in and RF modulator. Other important specifications of the TV include – MStar 6A928 processor (Cortex – A17 quad-core 1.4 GHz, Mali-T760 GPU, 4K 60fps, 2GB RAM, 8GB eMMC, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE v4.1. It also has built-in speakers including 2.5-inch mid-range subwoofers. Check out full specifications and other details of the new devices here.
Earlier this year, Xiaomi had launched a new variant of the Mi TV2 for roughly $320 (approximately Rs 19,000). The variant has a full HD display, Sharp SDP X- GEN LED backlit panel with a 5,000:1 contrast ratio, MStar 6A908 SoC which includes quad-core Cortex A9 CPU, Mali 450 M4 GPU and Dolby MS12 virtual surround sound technology.
The new devices have been launched in the Chinese market. So far, there’s no word on the availability of the TV outside China.
