Gionee has launched the slimmest Android smartphone, the Elife S5.5 in India. Flaunting a super slim frame at 5.5mm with a set of top notch features, this phone has been launched at a competitive price point of Rs 22,999 and will go on sale on April 27 in India.
The Elife S5.5 comes with a 5" 1080p 441ppi display and is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Device is powered by MediaTek octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The phone however lacks an external memory card support to expand its memory. Camera-wise, it comes with 13MP rear camera supplemented with a 5MP snapper at the front, and comes with a number of editing features. As far as the battery of the phone is concerned, the 2,300mAh battery housed in the phone has been claimed by the company to last for over a day.
It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean wrapped under the company’s Amigo UI.

It competes against the likes of Micromax Canvas Knight A350 which comes with features like a 5" 1080p IPS display, a true octa-core processor clocking at 2GHz, and 2GB of RAM. However, it flaunts a higher camera size at 16MP on rear and an 8MP camera at the front. The phone is priced at Rs 19,999. Another in the list is WickedLeak Wammy Passion X which too flaunts a 5" 1080p display, is powered by a 1.7GHz MediaTek MTK6592 octa-core chipset with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board memory and 13MP/5MP rear and front cameras. It is priced at Rs 22,500.
