Gionee has launched the Elife S5.5 for Chinese market, which it claims is the slimmest Android smartphone in the world. At 5.5mm, it is slimmer than the Vivo X3, which was the slimmest at 5.75mm. Gionee has priced the device at $370 (Rs 23,000 approximately), Gionee also said it'll launch the Elife S5.5 in 40 other countries.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Elife S5.5 features a 5" display, 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and it runs on Android wrapped under the company’s Amigo UI. Gionee has also promised that the device’s 2,300mAh battery will last for more than a day, so by going slim, it isn’t sacrificing anything.
The report adds that the Elife S5.5 will be available in both 3G and LTE variants, though Gionee is more likely to launch the 3G version in India.
