With just 10 days to go for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus India launch, there’s no stopping for the leaks surrounding the pricing of these Apple devices. A couple of weeks ago, there was a report that the price of new iPhones could start from Rs 62,000. Now, a new leak further strengthens the earlier report.
The leak comes in the form of a tweet from a user @sagarchawla8. Citing internal sources, the tweet includes pricing of the upcoming and existing iPhones. In line with the previous report, the iPhone 6s will be priced at Rs 62,000, Rs 72,000 and Rs 82,000 for the 16GB, 64GB and 128GB variants, respectively. On the other hand, the iPhone 6s Plus will be priced at Rs 72,000, Rs 82,000 and Rs 92,000 for the 16GB, 64GB and 128GB variants, respectively.
Last year’s iPhone 6 was launched for the price of Rs 53,500 (16GB), Rs 62,500 (64GB) and Rs 71,500 (128GB). Similarly, the iPhone 6 Plus, was priced at Rs 62,500 (16GB), Rs 71,500 (64GB) and Rs 80,500 (128GB). While these prices are significantly higher than last year’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the higher pricing might be due depreciating Indian Rupee value.
Soon after launching the new iPhones, Apple India also revised the prices of its older iPhones . The iPhone 5S is now priced at Rs 35,000 (16GB) and Rs 40,000 (32GB), the iPhone 6 is priced at Rs 52,000 (16GB), Rs 62,000 (64GB) and iPhone 6 Plus Rs 62,000 (16GB) and Rs 72,000 (64GB).
While these represent a mere Rs 3,000 price cut, one can buy an iPhone 5s online for as low as Rs 27,950. Also, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus can be picked up for Rs 40,596 and Rs 51,000 respectively.
