Xiaomi is expected to launch the Mi 4c tomorrow, and the executives have been revealing details about the smartphone bit by bit. The latest info comes from co-founder Li Nan, Chairman Lei Jun, and President Lin Bin who have revealed details about the processor, camera of the Mi 4c.
According to Nan, the new handset will have two SIM slots with both supporting 4G connectivity. In comparison, the Indian version Mi 4i supported 2G on one SIM, and 4G on the other. The executive also confirmed that the smartphone will have a multi-colored design of orange and white, rather than the plain white panel.
Jun, on the other hand, confirmed that the Mi 4c will be powered by a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chipset with an Adreno 418 GPU. He also added that there will be better connectivity, which will enable 20 percent faster download speeds compared to previous models.
Lastly, Bin compared the front camera of the Mi 4c to the iPhone 6 to show off its wide angle capabilities. The 5-megapixel selfie camera will come with an 85-degree super wide angle lens that is apparently equivalent to a 24mm wide angle camera. It can allow some six to seven people in one selfie, much more than the iPhone 6.
Past leaks indicate that the Mi 4c will flaunt a 5-inch 1080p display. It will be paired by a 3GB RAM in the 32GB variant, and a 2GB RAM in the 16GB variant.
It is expected to sport a 13-megapixel rear camera, pack a 3,080mAh battery, and run on the latest MIUI 7 based Android Lollipop. The price of the 16GB variant of the smartphone is expected to be around 1,499 Yuan (Rs 15,623 approximately).
The Mi 4c will also come with a tiny adapter that will convert the traditional microUSB charger into a USB Type-C charger. While the company is expected to unveil the Mi 4c tomorrow, the launch is pegged to be on October 2.
