Lava has unveiled a new selfie focused smartphone called the Pixel V2, a successor to the Pixel V1 which was launched back in July 2015. Unlike Pixel V1, the Pixel V2 doesn’t belong to the Android One family. The new smartphone is priced at Rs 10,750, and will go on sale across leading retail stores starting from September 15 onwards.

The talking point of the Pixel V2 is its photographic capabilities. At the back is a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash, and 1080p video recording capabilities. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel snapper with wide-angle lens, f/2.4 aperture and a LED flash. The cameras are bundled with software features like GIF maker, face beauty, wide-angle Selfie and pic focus among others.
It flaunts a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display with Asahi Dragon Trail Glass protection, and is powered by 64-bit MediaTek quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone offers 16GB of onboard storage with a microSD card slot for further expansion up to 32GB.
The Pixel V2 also features a 2,500mAh Li-Polymer battery, and connectivity options such as 4G LTE, dual-SIM card slots, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS layered with Lava’s homebrew Star OS 2.0 on top.
The Pixel V2 is slightly cheaper than the Pixel V1. There are a few notable differences between these two smartphones – the Pixel V2 comes with a 5-inch display as opposed to a 5.5-inch one on the Pixel V1. Also the internal storage on V2 is down to 16GB, compared to 32GB on the Pixel V1. And lastly, the new smartphone comes with a 64-bit processor, whereas the predecessor came with a 32-bit processor.
The Lava Pixel V2 will be available in Royal Black and Icy White colors.
