Twitter is slowly rolling out its new design for its web users, which looks a lot like Facebook. Twitter had first started testing this design back in February. Your Twitter profile will now look like a Facebook profile page, with your display photo flanked by a sort of cover photo.
Below the cover photo is the number of tweets, followers, and lists, while below the profile photo is your bio, and the multimedia you have shared. In the center, like Facebook’s news feed, all your tweets are listed, while on the right are recommendations and trending topics.
In addition to the design overhaul, Twitter is also introducing new viewing options like Best Tweets which makes the tweet with maximum interactions bigger than others, Pinned Tweet which lets you pin a particular tweet to the top of your profile and finally Filtered Tweets, which lets you see particular kind of tweets when checking out other people’s profiles.
As mentioned above, this new design is very similar to Facebook’s, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. In the past year, Facebook too has unabashedly picked up features (hashtags, verified pages, embed posts, trending topics) from Twitter.
