To curb the danger posed by Open SSL bug Heartbleed, which puts sensitive user data out in the open, McAfee has released the Heartbleed Checker Tool. As the name suggests, it checks if the websites you are interested in are free from the bug or not.
All you need to do is enter the website’s domain name in the Heartbleed Checker tool, and it will tell you if the ‘site in question has the updated OpenSSL encryption. As the updated version of OpenSSL is not vulnerable to the bug, it saves users’ data from theft.
Apart from checking the website with the Heartbleed Checker, it is advised for Internet users to change their current passwords. The old passwords could now be rendered useless if the login details were somehow leaked.
You can access the McAfee Heartbleed Checker Tool here.
