Sony has announced 3 new android devices during the its press conference at MWC in Barcelona. These devices includes flagship smartphone the Xperia Z2 aka ‘Sirius’, mid-range smartphone Xperia M2 and Xperia tablet Z2.
The Xperia Z2 smartphone carries forward the design language of its predecessor the Xperia Z1. It sports a 5.2" ful HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB of RAM and a 3,200mAh battery. The camera is a 20.7MP unit as expected, and is capable of shooting 4K videos. The flagship Sony also gets USB DAC support, Noise Cancellation and offers the resistant to water and dust. Storage options include 16GB of internal memory and expansion with the help of a microSD card slot. Sony says the phone will be available in March world-wide.
The Xperia M2 is a mid-range Android smartphone. The Xperia M2 features a 4.8" qHD (960×540 pixels) display and runs on a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor. The Xperia M2 gets a 2,300mAh battery, and an 8MP camera on the rear. Judging from the features, the Sony Xperia M2 would compete with the LG G2 Mini. The Xperia Tablet Z2 will also be out in March.
Sony has also announced the Xperia Tablet Z2, the successor to last year’s Xperia Tablet Z1. With a thickness of just 6.4mm, the Xperia Tablet 2 features a 10.1" Triluminous WUXGA (1920×1200 pixels) display. Powering it is a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 SoC with 3GB of RAM. On the photography front, it gets an 8MP primary shooter and a 2.2MP front camera.
The Xperia Tablet Z2 is powered by a 6,000mAh battery. It will run Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box. All this makes the tablet quite powerful, apart from being the slimmest waterproof tablet it also gets S-Force Surround Sound and Digital Noise Cancelling.
