Samsung has reduced the prices of Galaxy Gear smartwatch to Rs. 14,990 in India. The price cut is effective immediately. Samsung had launched the Galaxy Gear in India on September 25, at Rs. 22,990, alongside the Galaxy Note 3. Earlier in January, Samsung had dropped the smartwatch's price to Rs. 19,075.
The smartwatch features a 1.63" (4.14 cm) OLED display. It can make calls, display messages, record videos and snap photos with its 1.9MP camera. The Galaxy Gear smartwatch also features S Voice. At present Galaxy Gear is compatible with Galaxy S4, Galaxy SIII, Galaxy Note II and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. Samsung's Galaxy Gear smartwatch was launched with 70 apps initially, which include apps for basic fitness such as a step-counting paddometer. The battery life is said to be around 27 hours under Samsung's normal-use tests.
