Google heat map images shows the most photographed locations in the world

If you are curious to know which are the world’s most photographed or most checked-in location, Google’s Sightsmap has the answer for you. It is essentially a heat filter on top of Google Maps, that shows the most photographed locations in red, while the places with most geotagged photos are represented in yellow.
Google takes into consideration the number of photos uploaded on Panoramio, articles rated on Wikipedia and number of check-ins on foursquare to determine which places are hot and which are not. Google has also linked each of these “hot” places with photos, Wikipedia page, foursquare, Wikivoyage articles and StreetView.

You can visit Sightsmap to discover the places for yourself or if you want to explore a particular city, just add the name of the city after the URL (for example, http://www.sightsmap.com/Mumbai).
