Google has updated its Calendar app to version 201308023, listing the only change as “bug fixes and performance improvements”. While most of the update’s changes do seem to be pretty small, there at least one useful change that has arrived with the app that for whatever reason was not highlighted by Google in the change-log: the ability to reply to Calendar events from Gmail.
This might not seem like a major deal, but it’s considerably more convenient. If you’re wondering whether or not a Gmail update is also needed for this to work, the answer is no. Apparently the Calendar app handles this process without any changes needed to the Gmail app.
Although the Google Calendar app continues Google’s tradition of rolling out in stages, the update appears to have already arrived to Google Play for most Android users.
