Android 4.4 KitKat update for the HTC One Google Play Edition has started rolling out. The update should be available over the air, but can also be downloaded it from Android website.
The update size is 305MB. It brings the new ART runtime, which is replacing Dalvik. Users have been reporting noticeable speed increases and reduction in lag, but ART still has some way to go as few apps are reportedly crashing under it. Anyway, HTC just released the source codes for the stock and framework components of the HTC One Goggle Pkay edition.
Samsung also released the source codes for the stock and framework components of the Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition and while there's no official announcement that the 4.4 KitKat update is ready, it can't be long now.
