After introducing a smarter way to automatically sort one’s emails into different categories, Google has now improved the way we handle email attachments. The latest Gmail update lets one preview email attachments right there in the same window and then save them to the Google Drive for easy access on any device.
After the update, documents, spreadsheets, videos or images attached in the email will be previewed at the bottom of the screen for a quick view. When you click on any particular item, it will open a pop up window with the attached item shown in its original avatar. Every attachment will also include an option to save them on the Google Drive, after which they will be accessible on any PC, smartphone or tablet.
According to the blog post, the update is set to roll out “over the next week” and is desktop-only for now.
