Apple’s new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are now available in India. The iPhone 6s 16GB variant is priced at Rs 62,000, while the 64GB version is priced at Rs 72,000. The 128GB variant of the phone is available for Rs 82,000. The iPhone 6s Plus, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 72,000, Rs 82,000 and Rs 92,000 for the 16GB, 64GB and 128GB variants respectively.
The new iPhones were already available for pre-booking on several e-commerce sites as well as telecom partners such as Airtel and Vodafone. The smartphone went up for sale at midnight. Apple CEO Tim Cook expressed his gratitude to the Indian fans on Twitter. He said, “Unlike the previous launches, Apple’s new iPhones have been made available in India relatively in lesser time after the US launch.”
Apple had a profitable run in India in the first quarter of this year. In fact, the iPhone sales in India registered 93 percent hike in the third quarter faster than 87 percent growth in Greater China markets, comprising China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
iPhone 6s and 6s Plus boast several new features including an improved TouchID sensor, improved camera and even faster processor.
Apple iPhone 6s features a 4.7-inch (1334×750 pixels) display with 3D-Touch technology, and is powered by the new A9 64-bit processor with M9 motion co-processor and 2GB of RAM. The smartphone also features 16GB/64GB/128GB internal storage options, 12-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, 1,715mAh battery, and on the software front it runs on iOS 9 out-of-the-box.
Apple iPhone 6s Plus features a 5.5-inch LED-backlit full HD (1080p) display. The display also boasts Apple’s new 3D Touch technology. It is powered by Apple’s next-gen A9 64-bit processor paired with M9 motion coprocessor and 2GB of RAM. It also sports a sports a 12-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). There is also a 5-megapixel front-facing FaceTime HD camera. On the software front, it runs on iOS 9 out-of-the-box.
