Microsoft is hosting an event on October 6, where it is expected to unveil a bunch of devices including the Band 2. With a couple of weeks to the event, we might finally have our first look at the next-generation wearable.

The images shared by Spanish website Microsoft Insider show a wearable that is far better looking than its predecessor. Unlike last year’s wearable, the Microsoft Band 2 will get a metallic finish and will flaunt a curved display. It will however retain the two-button setup on the side.
Despite the changes to the appearance, the functionality is expected to remain much the same. WindowsCentral claims that there will be a new feature that can measure ‘height of an exercise’. In other words, it will be able to track changes in altitude, during activities like walking up a flight of stairs.

Just like its predecessor, the Band 2 is also expected to be compatible with Android, iOS and Windows Phone devices.
Last week, Microsoft started sending out media invites for its launch event on October 6. At the event, the company is expected to take the wraps off the Lumia 950, Lumia 950XL, and the Surface Pro 4 tablet.
