Alcatel Onetouch Launched Sporty Looking Cross-Platform Go Watch

The new Alcatel Onetouch Go Play phone just went official and the eight color options sure give users plenty of variety. That same sort of colorful selection also turns up in the company’s other new Go-series gadget launching tonight, as Alcatel Onetouch introduces the cross-platform Go Play smartwatch.

Supporting both Android and iOS devices, the Go Play watch may sound a bit more like a notifier than a more full-fledged smartwatch like an Android Wear device (the Go Play runs proprietary software, the same we saw from the company’s last effort), but avoiding feature creep also means that the Go Play watch can deliver some respectable battery life: users can look forward to up to five days of operation on a single charge, with recharging taking just one hour.

Like the Go Phone itself, the Go Watch is waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof, just like any good active watch should be. Users can customize the look of their wearable by swapping bands, as well as the watch’s front casing, and there are some unusual software modes to help keep you interested: the smartwatch attempts to take an “emotion pulse measurement” to help you choose a custom theme.

Of course, there’s an actual heart rate monitor on board, too, as well as the usual assortment of sensors we’d expect from a wearable like this. Pricing isn’t yet confirmed, but we could be looking at the Go Watch selling for under $150.
