The Samsung Galaxy S5 is finally officially available on the company’s eStore for India at a price of Rs 51,500, which is Rs 10,000 higher than the launch price of the Galaxy S4. The company had announced the phone a few weeks ago, however had mentioned to put it up on sale globally from April 11, i.e today.
Those who had already pre-booked the phone for Rs 1,500 will now have to deposit the rest of the amount to avail the 20 percent cashback offer.
The Galaxy S5 comes with 5.1-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, is powered by an Exynos 5 octa-core SoC with 1.9GHz A15 quad-core and 1.3GHz A7 quad-core processors coupled with 2GB of RAM, and sports a 4k-video ready 16-megapixel camera. In addition to that it is water resistant and comes with fingerprint scanner, and a heartbeat monitor. Rest of the features include 16GB of internal memory with external memory support for up to 64GB, a 2-megapixel front camera and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with an overhauled TouchWiz UI. On the connectivity front, the Indian variant does not get 4G-LTE support, however has all the other standard connectivity options.
