Panasonic P31 Smartphone Launched In India For Rs 11,990

Panasonic has launched the P31 mid-range smartphone, which comes with a 5" display, comes with a quad-core processor and features gesture-based unlocking. The phone will be available from the second week of March, 2014, at a price of Rs 11,990.

The P31 comes with a 5" FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card. It has an 8MP rear camera with auto-focus and full HD recording, and a VGA front-facing camera.

Connectivity features in the phone include dual-SIM support, 3G network support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. It comes with G-sensor, light and proximity sensor, and e-compass. The phone houses a 2,000mAh battery, which as per the company’s claims, gives up to 9 hours of talktime on 3G and up to 600hours of standby time.

The phone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean topped with Play Life user interface, which includes features like Gesture Play, Pop-i Player, Music cafĂ© and Ultimate Saver. The company also claims that the phone comes with Heat-Sink design-based feature, which maintains the device’s temperature through controlled heat dissipation.

The Panasonic P31 smartphone will be up against the likes of the Karbonn Titanium S5+, which also comes with a 5" display, a quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and an 8MP rear camera, and retails for Rs 10,636. The P31 will also be up against the Xolo Q1000 Opus, which comes with similar features and is available for Rs 9,999. Other substitutes include the Micromax Canvas Doodle A111, which is priced at Rs 10,599.
