Samsung Galaxy S5 technical specifications reportedly confirmed

SamMobile claims to have a confirmed set of specifications for the upcoming Samsung flagship, the Galaxy S5 along with the answer to the question — will the Galaxy S5 come in plastic or metal?

The report claims that Samsung will be launching two variants of the Galaxy S5 — one built using plastic materials and the other using metal. Not surprisingly, the metal variant will be the more expensive one retailing somewhere around 800 Euros (Rs 67,000 approximately), while the plastic variant will be slightly cheaper at 650 Euros (Rs 54,600 approximately). The metal variant could also be Samsung’s first device to be christened under the rumored premium “Galaxy F series”. However the above mentioned prices are just speculations.

Talking of specifications, the list confirmed by SamMobile is consistent with what has leaked in the past few weeks. The Galaxy S5 will feature an AMOLED display (most likely 5.25") with a resolution of 2,560×1,440 pixels, 16-megapixel rear camera, and will be powered by either an Exynos 6 processor or a Snapdragon 805 SoC depending on the region. The report further mentions that, the flagship will run on Android 4.4 KitKat.

Additionally, the report also claims that Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S5 mini and the Galaxy S5 Zoom, soon after launching the flagship device. The Galaxy S5 mini is expected to be unveiled in June, and feature a Super AMOLED display and run KitKat, while the Galaxy S5 Zoom would be announced in May, sport a 4.8" qHD (960 x 540) display and run KitKat as well.
