At a time when popular exclusive apps are expanding their presence to other platforms, reports coming in from China suggest that Nokia’s Music app is following on the same path. A leaked training manual courtesy of CTechcn.com (via PhoneArena) suggests that Nokia is reportedly on the verge of releasing a web app version of Nokia Music for iOS and Android devices.
At the moment, besides the above photo there is no other information and there is no word on when the service will arrive on iOS or Android. The timing of the report is quite interesting, considering that it was widely believed that the service would shut down once Microsoft took over Nokia. Many believe that the app’s features would be merged with the existing Xbox Music platform.
If Nokia Music store indeed comes to Android and iOS, it won’t just compete with third-party music streaming apps but also Apple’s iTunes and Google’s own music store.
