App updates: Tumbler, Yahoo! Weather, PayPal updated for iOS

Tumblr has just updated its iOS app with a completely redesigned interface that more closely matches the aesthetic of Apple's latest mobile operating system. The most significant change is that the activity view is now in its own tab so it's that much easier to keep up with who reblogged, liked or commented on your posts. Additionally, posting a new entry is much more streamlined with a fast reblog button, larger post type icons, new animations, tag auto-completion, a drop-down schedule calendar and an all-new image uploader that presents your photos and videos in a friendlier grid view instead of just popping you over to the camera roll.

Yahoo! is providnig the weather information for the native iOS 7 weather application but that doesn't stop them from continuing to improve their own standalone app. Today's update is a small, yet important one as severe weather alerts for U.S. cities have now been enabled.

The PayPal app has been updated with a new interface, new Wallet features, and easier payments. You can now move money from your PayPal balance to a bank account connected to PayPal with the Wallet feature. Payments are easier now, with the app allowing you to scan a barcode for QR code to pay at stores that support that functionality. Additionally, you can choose your start screen so you can quickly access whatever information you need quickly after opening the app.
